Roy Jay to Emcee Annual Benefit for Ride Connection
Roy Jay continues his community involvement and philanthropic ways, nationally as well as locally. On Thursday October 29th, Roy Jay will be the master of ceremonies for Ride Connections Annual Gala. The event will be held at the Tiffany Center, 1410 SW Morrison, in downtown Portland and is expected to attract an overflow crowd.

As demands for Ride Connection’s network of services and partners significantly increase, so does the importance of this event. Ride Connection, seeking an emcee for the event, turned to their longtime friend Roy Jay, who enthusiastically answered the call.

Jay, who is Chairman of the Multnomah-Washington County Regional Investment Board and one of the managing partners of Portlands Smart Park Garages entered into a partnership with Ride Connection over seven years ago. At that time the African American Chamber, headed by Jay, was the first to provide transportation for seniors in North and Northeast Portland twice a month. The program has grown to five days a week as a result of this unique and collaborative partnership with Ride Connection, the African American Chamber of Commerce, TriMet, the American Red Cross, Urban League Multicultural Senior Citizens Center, and Metropolitan Family Services.
